Gosford Hill School in Kidlington has been rated Good by Ofsted following a visit in February, it has been announced.
The secondary school was upgraded from requires improvement in its first inspection since joining River Learning Trust.
Everyone at the school and a lot of people at RLT have worked hard for this outcome, and we are delighted that their commitment has been recognised.
The inspection team praised students’ “calm, courteous behaviour across the school“ and recognised that staff “have significantly improved the quality of education”.
The report added: “Behaviour is typically good throughout the school. Leaders and teachers know their pupils well and work together to raise aspirations and support them to achieve their goals.
“Pupils and parents enthuse about the sporting, drama and music opportunities on offer”.
The Ofsted upgrade is the latest positive bit of news for the school, which is in the middle of a major refurbishment.
The Million Reasons to Love Gosford project will see £1million invested in the school’s buildings and grounds over five years.
