Leonard Sackey is an accomplished community development leader with over 11 years of experience in local authority services, including senior leadership roles focused on strategic planning, partnership building, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI). He has a proven track record of delivering initiatives that reduce inequalities and strengthen communities.
Leonard has led major programmes such as youth development initiatives and community strategies, managing budgets, teams, and partnerships across statutory, voluntary, and education sectors. He has successfully led initiatives such as the deployment of Locality Hubs during the pandemic, chaired the Interfaith Forum, and served as Vice Chair and coordinator of the citywide Children and Young Person Partnership Board. Passionate about social equity and systemic change, Leonard brings resilience, cultural sensitivity, and strategic vision to every initiative. His lived experience of overcoming disadvantage drives his commitment to creating holistic support systems that empower individuals through a lifelong learning and development approach.
